The filtration method will best allow to fully reveal the characteristics of this “grand cru”, mellow and pleasantly bitter, with its delicate hazelnut and raisin undertones.
From west Rwanda, the Gishamwana island on the Kivu lake is nicknamed “the coffee island”. 35000 coffee trees grow at 1450 meters altitude and only 400 coffee bags are produced yearly, from those, 50 bags allowed us to share this rare item. The berries have been fermented on the island following a traditional method which allows a particularly gentle cup.

Roasted & packed in France by Malongo

All coffee beans at Malongo are roasted the old-fashioned traditional way, in 20 minutes: Provided by an expert roaster, it allows the greatest Arabicas to reveal the full finesse of their aromas. The coffee is cooked at a temperature gradually increasing from 110 to 220 ° C. The only method capable of cooking the grain to the heart, as opposed to 10 minutes industrial "quick roast" or 90 seconds "flash roast".
